Hot Rod Hill Climb participants!!
What is the Tech Inspection about?
It’s another set of eyes on your car.
The Colorado Springs Rod and Custom Club volunteered to do the inspections for Hot Rod Hill Climb 2013 and 2014, and they will be back this year. Its a great place to see the cars up close!
What these guys offered to do for HRHC, was look over the cars for anything that might be unsafe or questionable.
- Tires & Wheels
- Brackets & Suspension
- Doors stay closed
- Steering is solid and tight
- Seat belts
- Oil and fuel lines
- Fluid leaks
- Battery hold down
- Exhaust hangers
- Fire Extinguisher (please have one in the car)
- Helmets for Open Cars
The club uses the NSRA inspection guidlines on all the cars. Most of the cars do not pass that, because they do not have wipers, etc. But the club gets credit for the inspections. It helps them out, helps the car owner out, and gives me piece of mind.
It’s really just another set of eyes on the car, last year we had a car that had loose radius rods out back, it turned out there were some broken welds on the frame. He was able to have a local shop weld it up and all was good.
The hill is no joke… especially coming down. One corner, if you go off…. well, its all over.
Emergency brakes are highly recommended, just in-case you need it, safety.
That’s about it.
If you are not in the Hot Rod Hill Climb, and just want your car inspected, find the tent near the Georgetown Mountain Inn between 9 and 10 am on Friday, these guys are happy to do it for you.
