Bootlegger ’40 Ford

Locals Charlie Clark and Darrell Mayabb got together and made a book!

It’s all fun as Charlie takes his freinds and “Sprinkles Chilie Pepper on them” to make a funny enjoyable adventure in a 40 Ford.

It’s published by Flathead Press,LLC.

It’s available on Amazon here

We have 3 copies signed by both the author and illustrator along with posters to give away at the Hot Rod Hill Climb on September 13th, 2014!

And Charlie says he will be at the event selling books, don’t miss it!

“I have a lot of friends that participate in the “old car” hobby. I thought to myself, “Wouldn’t it be fun to write some stories and include them?”

BUT, since they are all people much more normal than me, I need to keep their personalities intact but sprinkle some chili pepper on them to create adventures of which they become an integral part. While driving coast to coast and border to border twice in one year, I had plenty of time to think about some crazy adventures that one might get into with an old hot rod car.” more

Ardun, Cadillac Flat Head, Riley 4 Port, Offy

Yep, one guy owns them all!

Our friend Ron Bement built all four in his garage, and when I say built I mean machined all the parts! Ron is an amazing machinist and detail wizard!

Ron recently finished his Riley 4 Port Model A miniature motor, it only took 4 years to build.

We look forward to having him at the 2014 Hot Rod Hill Climb showing off these mini-marvels!

Support! Blast-Tech

At Nick’s Garage, we have been taking parts to Gary for years, motorcycle and car frames, motors, sheet metal, even the old heat registers from my house!

We are pleased to have his support, please let him know you do to!

Blast-Tech, Inc. is a paint and rust removal company that specializes in automotive paint and rust removal.

Their process uses the latest technology in plastic media blasting to remove paint and primer along with soda blasting for the more exotic aluminum-bodied cars and parts.

For rust removal we use a fine blended sand mixture, designed to be more automotive sheet-metal friendly, and not the regular coarse sand normally used by sandblasters.

Call Gary TODAY and turn that rust bucket into fresh metal!

1934 Ford Raced 1941 Lands End Hill Climb

Brothers Jim and Kent are bringing the recreation of their dads 1934 Hill Climb Car.  The original car was raced at Lands End Hill Climb, south of Grand Junction, Colorado,  in 1941 by their 26 year old dad. He competed against Louis Unser finishing 7th overall. The 1941 course had 212 turns over 14.5 miles, a 5,000 foot elevation gain to 10,300 feet. The race was AAA Sanctioned and had over 12,500 spectators.

The replica was hand built in 1982 by the original driver, Bob Baughman at 67 years old!

The car has a 1946 Mercury flathead backed by a 39 3 speed trans and a 4.11 ratio 1934 banjo out back.

We are thrilled they are coming to celebrate the 60th Anniversary with us!
