More Hill Climb + More Entertainment + More Hot Rods = Hot Rod Hill Climb 2016 in Central City, Colorado!
Our friend Kristin Cline came the the 2015 Hot Rod Hill Climb and had this to say….
Chances are you’ve been to a car show or two (or three, or hundreds if you’re like me). Car shows are awesome – but do you know what is even better? Driving cars… hearing their engines and racing them! If you’re with me on this, then Hot Rod Hill Climb is a vintage car event you’ve got to see. As talked about in our Hot Rod Hill Climb coverage from last year, a bunch of Colorado hot rodders in the ‘50s decided they needed an event of their very own. The tiny village of Georgetown allowed them to take it over once a year and open up the throttle on Guanella Pass heading out of town. The ~1.5 mile course up the mountain is steep enough to give these nostalgic hot rods a run for their money and to designate bragging rights for the quickest car. Of course, back then just as today, getting together and enjoying hot rods was reason enough.
Press is always a cool thing, it makes you feel accomplished.
Thanks to Ryan and the HAMB for the great mention!

Picking up right where he left off in September, 2014, Mike “Nick” Nicholas has corralled his troops and headed back to Georgetown, Colorado, for the third in a series of recreations of the famous Hot Rod Hill Climbs up Leavenworth Mountain. The quiet, quirky hamlet of Georgetown is now under siege by a legion of hot rodders and their trusty rides, all ready to do battle with the 1,000+ foot rise up Guanella Pass Road, just like their peers did more than 60 years ago.
We are doing it again this year!
Georgetown has invited Hot Rod Hill Climb to participate in their 4th of July Parade. It is open to 1950’s era Hot Rods and Customs, stock cars, trucks of that era too. If you are interested please let me know, all cars will have posters for the doors, flags, etc! Lets help support Georgetown for opening their arms to this fantastic event!
